Water Rationing Notice

The prevailing severe drought in the catchment areas of Sungai Sarawak Kiri and the associated works at Bengoh Catchment has resulted in the drop of raw water level to very CRITICAL level.  As such, Kuching Water Board is compelled to regulate the water supply in the following areas, if there is no precipitation and improvement in water discharge in the catchment areas in the next few days:

1. The whole of Kuching City.

2. Bau, Rambungan, Sempadi and Puncak Borneo:  All areas along Batu Kitang Road to Bau Bazaar, Rambungan and Sepadi areas and all areas after Pusat Latihan Polis (PULAPOL) Puncak Borneo.

3. Matang:  All areas after the Red Bridge to Kampung Telaga Air and Red Bridge to Kampung Rambungan to Batu Kawa/Lundu junction.

4. Samarahan dan Asajaya:  All areas for UITM gyratory to Kampung Tanjung Parang and UITM gyratory to Kota Samarahan until Asajaya and Sadong Jaya.

5. Kuching/Serian:  All areas along Jalan Kucing-Serian from Kota Padawan to Siburan.

Consumers in those areas are advised to store sufficient water for the above water regulation and to use water sparingly and to avoid using water to wash vehicles, watering the lawns and filling pools/ponds.

Kuching Water Board has requested for the relevant authorities for cloud seeding and increase in discharge from Bengoh Catchment and is monitoring the situation very closely. Kuching Water Board regret for the inconvenience caused.

Jalan Skait Temporarily Closed

SRI AMAN: Jalan Skait which connects Jalan Sri Aman / Sembau / Stumbin and Lingga is temporarily closed to make way for repair works.

    According to Sri Aman Public Works Department (PWD) engineer, Cassidy Morris, the road was closed on Monday due to reiverbank erosion recently.
    "The riverbank erosion has caused the section of the road to collapse and the incident has indirectly cause danger to the local residents who travel along the road on a daily basis," he siad.

    He advised motorists, who use the Sri Aman-Lingga Road, to use alternative route which is marked by the arrows as stated on the picture above.

    "He hoped the motorists would use the alternative route for the time being until the repair works on Jalan Skait is done." added Cassidy.

LIMBANG:  Talikhidmat melalui Unit Pemodenan Perkhidmatan Negeri, Jabatan Ketua Menteri telah menyertai Kaunter Aduan Bergerak Bersepadu sempena Program Mesra Rakyat yang dianjurkan oleh Biro Pengaduan Awan Negeri Sarawak pada 16 Mei 2015 di Dewan Suarah Limbang.  Objektif penyertaan ialah untuk memberikan kesedaran dan pengetahuan kepada orang awam tentang Sistem Talikhidmat dan Aplikasi Mobil Talikhidmat.

Talikhidmat Counter At Labour Day Exhibition

KUCHING:  A Talikhidmat counter was opened at the booth of State Service Modernisation Unit, Chief Minister's Department in an exhibition on 1st May 2015.  The exhibition was held in conjunction with the National Level Labour Day Celebration at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching.  The counter aims to create awareness on Talikhidmat and promote the usage of SCS Talikhidmat App.
